2021 Volvo S60 vs. 2021 Volvo V60: Which is Best for You?

Volvo designs some of the sportiest, most luxurious cars and SUVs on the planet. With Scandinavian style, efficient powertrains, advanced engineering and renowned safety, every single model has its own particularities. Depending on your lifestyle, you might prefer a sedan for its sportier looks and handling. If you have a family, a wagon is often more practical.

Here, we look at the main differences between the 2021 Volvo S60 sedan and the 2021 Volvo V60 wagon.

    Power and performance

The S60 sedan delivers powerful and efficient engine options. The base T5 engine is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that develops 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. This engine can be mated to a FWD configuration for maximum efficiency, as well as the Volvo AWD system for more all-season grip. The S60 also uses a hybrid system in the T8 that outputs an impressive 400 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque. For those who need more power, the Polestar Engineered version is available with 415 horsepower.

The V60 offers the T5 engine with 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque in the base model. Buyers may also opt for the T6 version with 316 horsepower. The T8 delivers 400 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque, and the Polestar Engineered version is also available with 415 horsepower. All variants come standard with AWD on the V60.

Both models also offer plug-in variants that can travel for 35 kilometres on full-electric power.

The 2021 Volvo V60 has more space, and a Cross Country variant

While both vehicles output very similar performance ratings, the V60 has an interior space advantage over the S60. While the S60 sedan deploys 392 litres in the trunk, families can take advantage of 658 litres behind the rear seats of the V60. Folding this row of seats will unveil 1441 litres of space.

The V60 also comes in a more rugged Cross Country version. This model is higher off the ground to help with off-road driving, but it also features unique styling elements like protection on the wheel arches and more.

The 2021 Volvo S60 starts at $45,250 while the 2021 Volvo V60 starts at $46,900. Both are available and ready for your discovery. You can shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
