The 2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge remains mostly unchanged this year, but it still received a number of updates that will keep it fresh, especially in terms of its powertrain.
The improvements to the Recharge powertrain
The most important changes made to the 2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge are found under the hood. Indeed, the Recharge powertrain received a larger, 18,8 kWh battery pack and a more powerful rear axle electric motor, which makes it more powerful and more efficient than before. With a combined output of 462 horsepower from its electric motors and 2.0L turbocharged and supercharged engine, this advanced drivetrain is the most powerful ever installed in a production Volvo model. In addition, its larger battery allows it to drive longer distances while only using electricity. With 58 kilometers of electric range, the 2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge is able to fulfill most commuting needs without its gasoline engine.
The same practicality as ever
The 2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge is full of big and small things that improve its practicality. For example, its cargo space is large and it has regular shapes, which means it is able to carry large items easily. If these items are heavy, the optional air suspension can be lowered at the rear to make for easier loading. This same suspension is also self-levelling, which means that no matter the weight that is resting on the rear axle, the XC60 Recharge will always stay level.
An advanced infotainment system
The 2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge includes a number of features that are still quite rare on the market, such as the Google-developed infotainment system that includes the Google assistant that reacts to voice commands just like a Google Home device. Speaking of which, these devices can be controlled by the XC60’s infotainment system, and some functions of the XC60 Recharge can be accessed remotely via these same devices in order to communicate the status of the vehicle with the owner and allow them to remotely lock and unlock its doors, for example.
