The 2023 Volvo XC90 delivers hybrid efficiency and traditional Volvo luxury
December 06 2022,
The 2023 Volvo XC90 has been one of the most popular three-row luxury SUVs on the Canadian market and has been so for quite a while now. The new Volvo XC90 got even better this year with improved mild-hybrid powertrains as well as a significantly enhanced XC90 T8 Recharge plug-in hybrid model. The 2023 Volvo XC90 also delivers safety, dependability, and overall luxury. Here are a few ways the 2023 Volvo XC90 delivers what buyers want in their next premium three-row luxury SUV.
2023 Volvo XC90 Recharge
The 2023 Volvo XC90 Recharge is the plug-in hybrid version of the XC90 family and since it's launched, it has been one of the most popular PHEV premium midsize sport utility vehicles in Canada. Now, the 2023 Volvo XC90 Recharge delivers even more range thanks to a significantly enhanced electric powertrain.
Earlier this year Volvo announced that the 2023 Volvo XC90 Recharge would feature a new 18.8-kWh battery. This new battery adds 29 km of range to the XC90 T8 Recharge which means you can drive 58 km on electric power alone.
Moreover, the performance of the XC90 Recharge also significantly improved. A more powerful rear electric motor now delivers 143 hp. When combined with the turbocharged and supercharged engine in the front, you get a combined 455 hp. That is more than what you find in just about any luxury plug-in hybrid SUV.
A base mild-hybrid powertrain
The 2023 Volvo XC90 is also offered with a new B6 powertrain. It uses a 2 L turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder engine, but the power increases to 295 hp and an impressive 310 pound-feet of torque. This B6 engine delivers one of the highest performance ratings and horsepower numbers in its segment, guaranteeing exceptional performance in every situation.
Impressive interior space and versatility
The other element that stands out about the 2023 Volvo XC90 is the interior space. The interior space is evident both inside the cabin with generous legroom front and back as well as generous headroom for the driver and passengers. There is nearly 1,000 mm of rear leg room, making the XC90 one of the most welcoming compact luxury SUVs in its class. There is also over 1,800 L of rear cargo space which is more than enough for your active lifestyle.
Pair all of this with impressive safety features and a comfortable and refined drive that puts the emphasis on making the cabin as quiet and isolated from road perfections as possible, and you have a very appealing luxury SUV with the new XC90.
