Three significant changes made to the 2022 Volvo XC60 this year

The 2022 Volvo XC60 has been significantly improved for 2022. The engine lineup has received a significant upgrade and there have also been cosmetic changes made to the exterior to keep the XC60 fresh. Moreover, there is improved connectivity and technology inside, making the 2022 XC60 more appealing than ever before in the compact luxury SUV segment. Here are the three changes that have been made to the 2022 Volvo XC60.

    Improved powertrain lineup

The 2022 Volvo XC60 has received significant improvements to its powertrain that include new mild-hybrid B5 and B6 engines. These replace the outgoing T5 and T6 engines and are very similar in their overall engineering except that they now benefit from a mild-hybrid system.

This new mild-hybrid technology makes each engine more efficient while also adding to the overall power delivered. In the new B5 engine, owners will enjoy 247 horsepower along with 258 lb-ft of torque. As for the B6 powertrain, it features 295 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. In both cases, you get more power than most competing powertrains in the segment, but you also get more power than the previous engines thanks to the new integrated starter generator found in the B5 and B6 engines. That means that overall, these engines deliver more power.

The are also more fuel efficient because this starter-generator can act as an assistant to the engine for certain functions. The result is that it reduces the strain on the powertrain in order to deliver better efficiency. The Volvo XC60 averages less than 10 L per 100km in both versions and it also averages just over 8 L per 100 km on the highway. City efficiency has also been vastly improved in the 2022 Volvo XC60.

    New Google-based infotainment

The 2022 Volvo XC60 has a new Google-based infotainment system which significantly improves the onboard experience for owners. The new Volvo XC60 has a range of integrated Android-based features such as Google Maps and Google Assistant. This makes the XC60 a lot more enjoyable and a lot more convenient every day.

A range of new exterior design improvements

The 2022 Volvo XC60 has significantly improved visually as well. Volvo has added new color options and new wheel options, and you will notice changes to the front and back of the Volvo luxury SUV. Give us a call today to learn more about this impressive new Volvo SUV.
