Volvo C40 Recharge Unveiled as Latest Volvo EV
March 14 2021,
The Volvo family of vehicles is going electric and the Volvo C40 Recharge unveiled earlier this month is the latest EV to join Volvo’s ranks. The C40 Recharge joins the XC40 Recharge in a lineup that will add quite a few more electric vehicles in the coming years.
The C40 Rechage is a more stylish, sleeker, coupe-like version of the XC40 Recharge. It shares many of the its components with the XC40 Recharge including its battery pack, and its state-of-the-art infotainment system. The technology, which is developed with Google and based on the Android operating system, provides many of the same technologies we are accustomed to seeing on our phones including Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play. This system offers over-the-air updates as well, so it always has the latest features.
The C40 Recharge will feature a 78-kWh battery pack that offers roughly 420 kilometres. The battery can be charged up to 80 per cent (roughly 340 kilometres) in just 40 minutes. The range could also be improved through the over-the-air updates.
“The C40 Recharge represents the future of Volvo and shows where we are going,” said Henrik Green, chief technology officer. “It is fully electric, offered online only with a convenient care package and will be available for quick delivery. Getting a new Volvo was never this attractive.”
C40 Recharge buyers will also enjoy a convenient care package that includes home charging options, insurance, roadside assistance, service and warranty. All of this makes buying a C40 Recharge a no-hassle affair. The 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge will being being built this fall.
