July 31 2021,
With 1,002 vehicles sold in June, Volvo recorded a 20.9 percent increase in sales over the same month one year ago. This impressive result ties in with Volvo’s remarkable 2021 sales results so far. In the first six months of the year, Volvo has sold 5,143 units, an increase of 66.7 percent when compared to the first six months of 2020.
Moreover, Volvo certified pre-owned vehicles have done very well with 333 units sold, an increase of 5 percent over June 2020.
“Our June results have left us in a strong position as we head into the second half of the year,” said Matt Girgis, Managing Director of Volvo Car Canada Ltd. “With twelve consecutive months of growth, a best-ever month of Certified by Volvo sales, and an exciting lineup of plug-in hybrid and pure electric vehicles that continue to resonate with our customers, we’ve got a lot to look forward to as we enter the third quarter.”
Volvo sales have been buoyed by the brand’s Recharge plug-in hybrid vehicles which have reached impressive results throughout the first six months of the year. They have also accounted for 21 percent of all vehicles sold this year.
