Volvo Receives 9 IIHS Top Safety Awards, More Than Any Automaker

Volvo received more IIHS Top Safety Pick+ awards than any other automaker in 2021, receive 9 total top safety picks for its models this year. With this latest set of safety awards, Volvo continues its tradition as a benchmark in the industry for protecting Volvo owners as well as others on the road.
Volvo stands out by offering more standard safety technology than its competition, including advanced safety features such as automatic braking and collision avoidance with not only other vehicles, but cyclists, pedestrians, and large animals.
“Safety has been the core of our business since 1927 and we always appreciate when prestigious third-party organizations recognize that,” said Anders Gustafsson, President and CEO of Volvo Car USA.
The IIHS testing regulations are among the most stringent anywhere in the world. To receive a Top Safety Pick+ award, a vehicle must receive the highest rating in every possible crash test while also receiving a top grade for the performance of its active safety technologies as well as its headlights.
The following vehicles were awarded the Top Safety Pick+ designation from the IIHS:

- Volvo V60
- Volvo V60 Recharge
- Volvo XC40
- Volvo XC60
- Volvo XC60 Recharge
- Volvo XC90
